Payroll

Organising the payroll can be a tricky task for a company, whatever its size. It is important to both you and your employees that it is processed correctly, but making sure you are compliant with all the relevant legislation and new tax requirements has now require businesses to submit their payroll returns in Real Time (Under RTI System).

Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)

  
The Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) sets out the rules for how payments to subcontractors for construction work must be handled by contractors in the construction industry.
 
We offer a range of bookkeeping and accounting services for CIS Contractors & Subcontractors that can be tailored to your specific needs.

Contractors
If you work in the building trade, you probably already know about the construction industry scheme, better known as CIS. As a registered contractor you are liable to deduct tax at source from the payment made to your subcontractor, file periodical returns (CIS Return) to HMRC and pay the taxes to HMRC.
 
We can help you in all below:

Sub- Contractors
If you are newly self-employed on the CIS scheme we’ll clearly explain everything you need to know and help with everything you need to comply with.
When a contractor pays a subcontractor (you), the contractor withholds a percentage (usually 20%) of any subcontractor labour costs (Net). The contractor is required to pay this withheld balance over to HMRC on a monthly basis.

As the subcontractor you can reclaim the 20% withheld by the contractor. You can then reclaim the amount from HMRC at the end of the tax year. In practice, the reclaimed amount is knocked off any tax owed by you as the subcontractor to HMRC.

The scheme is effectively a way for HMRC to use contractors to tax subcontractors up front.

When you are a small business or sole trader you will probably find it hard enough to fit in your day everything that needs to be done let alone the distraction of chasing outstanding invoices.
 
We can chase your outstanding invoices for you in a professional and open manner!
 
By chasing outstanding invoices on your behalf we effectively become part of your credit control department freeing up your time to allow you to concentrate on running your business. Simply by supplying us a list of contacts and the outstanding invoice details we will;
 
• Call your client and create a log of the status
• Let them know they have now exceeded the payment terms of the invoice
• Send them a letter stating we are dealing with the debt on your behalf
• Chase as required by telephone/email/letter as required, logging the details each time.

• We can take payment by credit or debit card on your behalf and pass on to you by bank transfer or cheque.
• We offer a Letters Before Action service – formal warnings to a debtor informing them that you intend to take legal action.
